- Why should I stay in a youth hostel in Budapest?
The main reason is cost. Although it is nicer to stay in a hotel, an average hotel room in Budapest for two people costs somewhere between EUR 60 and 120. A bed in a youth hostel
dormitory is only EUR 12.
Another reason is that you get to meet a lot of fellow travelers who you would never meet if you stayed in your own room. The friendships you make during your stay in a youth hostel
dormitory are sometimes more exciting than the city itself.
- Can I stay in a youth hostel in Budapest if I am not a student?
Absolutely. The term "youth hostel" in Budapest is simply used to indicate cheap dormitory-type accommodation.
- How many beds are in a youth hostel dormitory?
It depends. There are rooms with only 4 beds and there are ones with as many as 10.
- Are youth hostels in Budapest clean?
The ones we work with are. As in any city, Budapest has its share of hotels and hostels with funny conditions but we only cooperate with hostels that are immaculate. So if you book a
place with us, you will be alright.
- What time do hostels close at night? Is there a curfew?
Most of the hostels we promote are accessible all night long. Some youth hostels in Budapest have curfews but, if you submit a booking request with us, we will let you know
whether the particular hostel has a curfew.

If you do not mind spending a little more money, you can have your own apartment in Budapest. Needless to say, this would be a significant improvement over a youth hostel
dormitory. For example, the apartments below are only EUR 17.00 per night per person.
In the case of the Parliament Apartment, this price is based on 4-people occupancy;
in the case of the Rose Apartment, on 7-people occupancy.
Thus you pay almost the same as in a youth hostel and yet you get an entire apartment for yourself.
