Within, the castle is royally furnished: there are splendid halls, among which are the brilliant Festival Hall (724 square meters), the St. Stephen hall (in Roman style), and the, Mathias Hall in Renaissance style. The Castle contains also a Strong-room, guarded by a special Crown Guard, where the Royal Insignia is kept; the holy Crown of Stephen (from the 11th Century), the Sceptre, the Imperial globe, the Sword and the Coronation Robe: this room can only be opened through a resolution of Parliament. We must mention also the interesting Court Chapel or Stephen's Chapel (also called Sigismund Chapel) where the right hand of St. Stephen is honoured as a relic. On Stephen's day (20th August) which is a national festival, this relic is carried with great ecclesiastical pomp, into the Coronation Church and there exhibited.
