FUNNIEST CHINESE SUBTITLES
English subtitles done in China - Funny and always surprising.

Funniest Chinese subtitles - Chinese subtitles that make you laugh

Perhaps the funniest Chinese subtitles I have come across were in a DVD of the movie "Simone" I bought in Beijing. Although the movie was in English, just out of curiosity I turned on the English subtitles and soon I was laughing my head off. I don't know who and how much was paid for transcribing the script but the results were extremely funny. For example, the voice said "Not everyday you are fired by the mother of your own child," whereas the subtitle read "none of the you find when a mother between child."

Simone - Chinese subtitles An even better subtitle was "I was the king of the speed, you must my speed means humans" instead of "I was the keynote speaker, you must remember my speech: Who needs humans?"

But by far the best was this:

Subtitle: "Simone has the voice of young clone flouter, the body of safalaring, the grace of well grace Kelly, and the face of Artyphapen combined with in angle."

Actual voice: "Simone has the voice of the young Jane Fonda, the body of Sophia Lauren, the grace of, well, Grace Kelly, and the face of Audrey Hepburn combined with an angel."

An unrelated instance was when I was flying with Hainan airlines and they were showing the movie "The clan of flying daggers." There was no English sound in the earphones so instead they had subtitles. But the subtitles had nothing to do with the movie and after about 10 minutes it became apparent that the subtitles were actually for the movie "Code Talkers" with Nicolas Cage. It was very funny watching the Chinese martial arts heroes speaking about Navajo language.
