What options are for Hungarians to learn foreign languages faster?

Learning a foreign language is usually a slow process, depending on the time you devote to it. Many people simply cannot allow to proceed faster, because they have to take care of their work, family, or school. But those who do not like to wait, or for some reason, want to learn a language really quick, nowadays have various options to do so. While many regular high schools and post-gradual schools teach two or three common foreign languages (students get to pick one), students rarely learn in a fast and efficient manner. If you are Hungarian and would like to learn a language of your choice in a fast and efficient way, generally you can do it either in Hungary or abroad. If you do not like to travel, or do not have enough money (which is always an important factor for Hungarians), most of the language schools offer super-intensive courses. Although I have never tried one myself, I imagine that a course like this can be tough, studying for four or five hours a day, five days a week. But if you are in a hurry, you have to pay the price. The term "price" here is meant in the sense of hardship, as these courses are not significantly more expensive than the slower, regular ones. If you are a bit more adventurous, you can also leave Hungary and go abroad. Many young Hungarians do this, mostly in the form of organized trips of language schools, student exchange programs, scholarships, or via labor exchange (popular choices include babysitting, working on luxury liners, etc.). Many of these have a downside though: if you are together with people who speak your native language, you will never be forced to learn. Another form of studying a language abroad, and probably the most risky one, is to go abroad without a particular plan, to try one's luck. Many young Hungarians do this too and most of them become successful enough to make a better living where they are than in Hungary.
