The text of the English Bible is based on the King James Version of the Bible, perhaps to this day the most beautifully executed translation of the scriptures. This translation dates to 1611.
The Hungarian version is based on the Karoly Gaspar (Károly Gáspár) version, which is also commonly known as the Vizsoly Bible (Vizsolyi Biblia). This translation dates to around 1590 and had a tremendous influence on the development of Hungarian literary language.
Therefore, the English and Hungarian Bibles are both from around 1600, only 21 years apart. Thus this Bilingual Bible CD-ROM is a wonderful tool for comparing contemporary English and Hungarian translations to each other. In this respect, it is a Renaissance English-Hungarian dictionary.
The English-Hungarian Bilingual Bible CD-ROM carries the full text of all 66 books of the standard Bible, including the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Psalms. Altogether, the Bible CD contains almost 1,200 chapters.
