A composition with a nurse on the left side and Chinese characters on the right. The three vertical rows of Chinese characters uncaracteristically go from left to right, ending in the large two-character third row. The text read, "I will trade my life for the health of all Chinese people!" The pledge comes from the nurse who is depicted on the red background of the martyr's blood. The white background on the right clearly represents the spotless health of the Chinese people saved by the sacrifice.
I suspect that the nurse is actually the artist herself. The figure is drawn with care and attention to details. Moreover, she is obviously drawn to be very pretty, with her two-colored socks, orderly hair style, and large manga-like eyes. The influence of Japanese manga is also quite apparent in her figure.
In contrast to the main figure, the execution of the calligraphy is still immature. The characters are all written in different colors, ending with the two large green characters of the third row meaning "health!"
