Aphrodite is the Goddess of Beauty. Accordingly, she is depicted as the most beautiful woman on Earth. The pictures of Aphrodite below come from four different traditions. The first picture is Aphrodite and Erotes
on an Apulian vase. It is an original greek piece of art from around 380 BC.
The second picture is Aphrodite and Eros, a painting by Giovanni Antonio Pellegrini, from the late 17th century.
The third picture of Aphrodite was painted by Sandro Botticelli. Its title is The birth of Venus. (Venus was the Roman name for the Greek goddess Aphrodite.)
The fourth picture is the world famous The Venus of Milo. This statue of Aphrodite was created around 100 BC.
