Below is a collection of cover designs of Ghost Rider comic books by Marvel Comics. The first set is the cover of the series simply called Ghost Rider, whereas the second is of the
Wolverline and Ghost Rider. You can see that the keywords of fire, death, blood and spirit are prominent in both the titles and the visual design (death is most commonly symbolized
by a skull).
The Ghost Rider comics are graphically definitely stimulating and entertaining and they will undoubtedly become a lot more popular when the new movies comes out
with Nicolas Cage playing Ghost Rider. The previews have certainly been captivating and if the movie itself is just as good, then we will have a Ghost Rider renaissance in no time.
According to the official plot release, the story is about the stunt biker Johnny Blaze who sells his soul to Mephistopheles (which is just another name for the Devil) and has to
say goodbye to his love. Later on, Mephistopheles pushes Johnny to become the Ghost Rider, a supernatural agent of vengenance and justice who rides around a bike with his skull burning.
The basic plot of the script is obviously based on the Faust legend where the main hero signed a contract with Mephistopheles for the sake of gaining knowledge. This medieval
legend gained a much wider audience when the celebrated German writer W. Goethe took it up.
