The pictures of giants below come from four different traditions. The first picture is a painting
by Francisco de Goya y Lucientes entitled The Giant, from 1818.
The second picture is a book illustration by Richard Doyle. It was drawn for the Jack the Giant Killer
fairy tale, and was published in London, in 1842.
The third picture is about a Cyclops, a mythological giant. It is The Cyclops Polyphemus by Annibale Carracci,
from 1595.
The fourth picture is another illustration entitled The Giants Seize Freya. It was created for Wagner's Das Reinhold by
Arthur Rackham in 1910.
