The pictures of horses below come from four different traditions. The first picture is an Etruscan sculpture of a head
of a horse. It was made around the 4th century BC, of nenfro, a volcanic stone.
The second picture is a painting entitled Grey Horse in the Landscape by Aelbert Cuyp from the 1650s.
The third picture is a painting by Eugene Delacroix. Its title is Arab Horses Fighting in a Stable.
It was painted in 1860.
The fourth picture is Small Horse. It is an engraving by Albrecht Durer from 1505.
