Pictures of Niobe - Drawings and paintings of Niobe

The pictures of Niobe below come from four different traditions. The first picture is a painting by Anicet-Charles-Gabriel Lemonnier. It is Apollo and Diana Attacking Niobe and her Children, from 1772.

The second picture is by Pierre-Charles Jombert. Its title is The Children of Niobe Killed by Apollo and Diana. The title, as well as the figures on the painting are strangely reminiscent of Lemonnier's picture. Both pictures were painted in the same year, 1772.

The third picture is a painting of Károly Patkó. It is entitled Niobe. It was painted in 1923.

The fourth picture is The Death of Niobe's Children, by Abraham Bloemaert. It is from 1591.
