Pictures of the wolf - Drawings and paintings of the wolf

The pictures of the wolf below come from four different traditions. The first picture is a chalk drawing by Leonardo da Vinci from 1516. It is entitled Allegory with Wolf and Eagle.

The second picture is the Dead Wolf, a painting by Jean-Baptiste Oudry from 1721. It shows the aftermath of a hunting.

The third picture is an antique Chinese jade statue, "Wolf with Young".

The fourth picture shows a she-wolf with two boys on the back of a Roman coin from around 330 AD.

The fifth picture is an illustration from the Fables of the Russian writer Krylov. The picture shows the wolf blaming the little lamb for spoiling his drinking water. around 330 AD.
